PACSUN STORES

Concepting, scouting, planning, casting, shot-listing—we did it all. We helped PacSun create the imagery that would be used across all mediums for their Golden State of Mind campaign. We shot in Silver Lake, San Fran, Big Sur, Pismo Dunes, Catalina, LA, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, and elsewhere. There are literally tens of thousands of photos we art directed for the brand over a few years, but here’s a handful we really like. All shot by Nicholas Maggio.

DELL SOFTWARE

Dell needed to expand their library of owned photography for use across creative services, social, and web departments. CoG worked alongside the in-house team to gather requirements, generate a want list, select a crew, plan, coordinate, and art direct the photoshoot, and to oversee post production and delivery of the final images. It was a two-day, multi-location shoot in Downtown LA with 16 talent, the best crew imaginable, and photographer River Jordan.

CoG started by dreaming up the database admins, developers, data and business analysts we would portray.
For each, we developed their interests, personality, look, and workspace style. Then we melded the casts’ personas with the IT scenarios we wanted to represent—mobility, efficiency, and collaboration—and pulled together a 38 page shot list.

ABLE BODY PILATES

Not every photoshoot requires a huge crew or budget. Our friend Amanda only needed a few photos to market her pilates studio. CoG helped her consider lighting, wardrobe styling, props, and talent, then, drafted a short shot-list. We arrived with a legit camera and a toddler (just off-set eating blueberries the entire time) and checked everything off the list in just a few hours. For us, a reminder that we can handle the shoots that take months to plan and days to pull off, but we also love the calm of an intimate shoot with just five people.
